Pantai Sadeng merupakan sebuah pelabuhan ikan satu-satunya yang ada di wilayah Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Mulai dari kapal kecil hingga kapal besar berukuran 30 GT (Gross Ton) bersandar di pelabuhan yang terkenal dengan tangkapan ikan tunanya. Hasil tangkapannya pun tidak hanya ikan berukuran kecil, ikan tuna berukuran se-paha orang dewasa pun menjadi primadona di pantai pelabuhan sadeng ini. Untuk masuk ke pelabuhan perikanan ini, pengunjung dibebaskan dari biaya retribusi tempat wisata.

Selain pelabuhan, objek wisata yang memiliki pemecah ombak ini memiliki hamparan pasir yang tidak terlalu luas. Selesai bermain di pantai dan berbelanja ikan segara, pengunjung dapat merasakan nikmatnya masakan laut di rumah makan di sepanjang jalan masuk pelabuhan.

Menurut informasi yang beredar, pantai yang diapit oleh dua buah bukit di kanan dan kirinya merupakan hulu dari sungai Bengawan Solo Purba. Hal ini dapat dilihat ketika kita berada di turunan menuju pantai pelabuhan Sadeng.

Lokasi

Pantai Pelabuhan Sadeng terletak desa Jepitu, kecamatan Girisubo, kabupaten Gunungkidul. Jalan menuju lokasi objek wisata ini setelah dari kecamatan Girisubo memiliki jalan yang berkelok dan naik turun. Meskipun sudah beraspal hingga jalan masuk pantai, namun ada sebuah turunan/tanjakan yang sangat curam di jalur menuju tempat wisata pantai Sadeng ini, sehingga pengunjung diharapkan untuk berhati-hati ketika menuju atau sepulang dari wisata di pantai Sadeng. Karena tanjakan yang curam tersebut, tempat wisata ini tidak disarankan untuk bus berukuran besar.

Pantai Sadeng memiliki kantong parkir yang dapat menampung kendaraan roda dua hingga kendaraan roda empat. Selain itu mulai tahun 2014, untuk masuk ke pantai Sadeng tidak dipungut retribusi.
