Pantai Sundak merupakan salah satu objek wisata pantai yang menjadi andalan di Gunungkidul. Pantai berpasir putih ini menyuguhkan pemandangan yang indah dengan hamparan pepohonan membuat tempat wisata serasa teduh, sehingga cocok untuk kegiatan outbond di daerah pantai.

Lokasi

Pantai yang berada di desa Sidoharjo, kecamatan Tepus ini berada di satu pintu retribusi dengan pantai Baron dan pantai Indrayanti. Ada tiga jalur yang bisa dipergunakan oleh pengunjung untuk mencapai tempat wisata ini.

Jalur pertama melalui pusat kota dan melewati kecamatan Tanjungsari. Jalur ini tidak direkomendasikan untuk kendaraan besar karena jalannya yang berkelok-kelok dan naik turun dengan lebar jalan sekitar 4 meteran, sehingga akan kesulitan apabila berpapasan dengan bus.

Jalur kedua melalui kecamatan Tepus, jalur ini juga memiliki jalur berkelok meskipun tidak sebanyak jalur Tanjungsari. Namun pengemudi kendaraan besar diharapkan tetap berhati-hati ketika melalui jalur yang memiliki lebar jalan 4-5 meter ini.

Jalur ketiga adalah melalui kecamatan Paliyan dan tembus di JJLS, Jalur ini memiliki lebar antara 4-6 meter dengan kelokan yang minim dan hampir tidak ada tanjakan. Jalur ini sangat direkomendasikan untuk dilewati kendaraan besar, apalagi jalan ini terhubung dengan JJLS Gunungkidul.

Sedangkan jalan masuk menuju pantai Sundak hanya dapat dilalui oleh satu bus, sehingga apabila terjadi papasan dua bus akan mengalami kesulitan. Namun pantai ini meiliki parkir yang cukup luas yang dapat menampung mobil maupun bus berukuran besar walau dalam jumlah terbatas.
